Nixon J. Whatcott our valiant, loving and courageous warrior returned to his Heavenly Father with honor on June 25, 2019. The heavenly angels gained a valiant son of God who we know most certainly was part of Christ’s Army and was with Him in the beginning before we were lucky enough to have him in our family. Nixon was born on August 18, 2011. From the first time we looked at him we knew he was chosen for great things during his mortal journey. Nixon loved everyone he met. He easily made new friends with his giant personality. Nixon had an imagination bigger than life. He dreamed of being a Navy Seal and his love for the military was part of his soul. He was a true Frogman who earned his brotherhood trident.
He loved building Legos and would jump at the chance to get someone to build them with him or buy them for him. Nixon loved school and was always eager to help others in his class learn. He was so excited to get to learn Chinese like his older brothers so he could talk with them. There was not a day that went by that Nixon didn’t love playing with his brothers and especially being goofy with them! They would laugh uncontrollably until he was in tears. Nixon loved his brothers and would do anything for them! He always had their backs and put them before himself. He never wanted to do anything without them. Nixon had a passion for sports and loved football, baseball, basketball, soccer and most recently loved boxing matches with his brothers while jamming out to their favorite music. He loved coaching his little brother Jett and was his biggest fan!
Nixon was given his biggest challenge when he was diagnosed with cancer in February 2018. His fight, his battle was something to behold and taught us lessons that we will never forget about perseverance, strength, courage and finding joy even when life is tough. In Nixon’s short time on earth he impacted and touched more people than we could have dreamed of. Nixon’s smile and bright blue eyes would change you in the blink of an eye, and make you believe that you could do anything. His legacy will never be forgotten! We will miss Nixon more than words can say, but we know that he is standing on the right hand of God with honor watching over us and guiding us with his light in our lives. Nixon has changed us for the better and made us all want to become the best we can. We love you Nixon and are so thankful for having you in our lives. We will never forget your beautiful smile and contagious laugh! Always NixonStrong!
Survived by his proud parents; Nick and Janessa Whatcott, Brothers; Drew, Hudson, and Jett Whatcott; Grandparents Gary and Pam Whatcott, Jerry and Jeann Morrison, and many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, great-grandparents and friends; Welcomed in heaven with brotherly love by his brother Cole Gary Whatcott. We give THANKS to all those at Primary Children’s Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Center and Shriner’s Hospital for their loving care of our sweet boy.
