Greetings,
Welcome to the 1st Annual NIXONSTRONG Memorial Day Baseball Tournament! We are so excited to have you and appreciate your participation in making this more than a baseball tournament, but an opportunity to unite and lift those who are battling cancer. All proceeds of this tournament will go to the Annika Rounds and Beckham Johnson Families who are battling cancer.
We are excited more than ever to have the opportunity to play baseball especially during these unprecedented times and challenges that we have faced in 2020. We are honored to be able to host this tournament for you and we look forward to making lasting memories, creating and deepening friendships and getting to step back on the baseball field and compete.
While we want this tournament to be as competitive as possible, we hope that while you are playing that you can remember why we are playing, which is for a much greater cause in this tournament other than a win or a trophy. We hope that you will remember to think about those who would love to be in your shoes and children who would love to be playing baseball but cannot because they are fighting for their lives in their individual battles with cancer. These kids and their families are the definition of what we hope all of these kids playing will learn to become, tough, gritty, kind, fighters who rally as a team to fight for their dreams. We hope that you will remember sportsmanship, character and how blessed we all are to get to step back onto the baseball field and play.
During these times we would ask that you continue to practice safe social distancing guidelines, treat others with respect and kindness and remember our freedoms we enjoy as a country. We hope that you can remember those brave men and women who have fought and died for us as we reflect on Memorial Day. Many have passed before us leaving us with incredible legacies of their love for this country. They have blessed us with incredible liberties and freedoms. Let us never take that for granted. We THANK YOU for your participation and kind generosity in giving back in this tournament and fighting for something bigger than baseball! We hope that you have a wonderful and fun tournament!
